Edwin Freeman is a visionary filmmaker, community advocate, and founder of the Freeman Foundation for the Arts, dedicated to empowering marginalized artists and transforming lives through creative expression. With a distinguished career spanning critically acclaimed film performances and groundbreaking documentaries, Freeman leverages his entertainment industry expertise to provide educational opportunities, mentorship, and resources for emerging artists from underserved communities. Joshua Olatunde is the Chairperson of The Freeman Foundation for the Arts, bringing a rich background in education, arts, and workforce development. Mr. Olatunde served as the Senior Director of Learning for President Barack Obama's Race to the Top Initiative, where he helped shape national education policy. He has worked with prestigious institutions including Johns Hopkins University, UCLA, and Harvard University, developing innovative educational programs and award-winning creative content for youth. His expertise spans physics, arts education, and workforce development, with notable achievements including creating a nationally approved curriculum for The Center for Energy & Workforce Development and serving as a board member for TCI Solutions.

Heyward Johnson Jr., a United States Navy Veteran with a Bachelor of Science from Maharishi International University, serves as Vice Chairperson of The Freeman Foundation for the Arts. Kajal Panday is a multi-faceted artist with a diverse career spanning acting, modeling, poetry, filmmaking, and humanitarian work. After dedicating years to improving the lives of underprivileged communities in India, she returned to New York City. Here, she leverages her artistic talents and practices of meditation to advocate for causes that empower and uplift New York City residents.
Treasurer, The Freeman Foundation for the Arts
Muhammad A. Nur, a Vietnam War veteran and community reformer from Brooklyn, serves as Treasurer of The Freeman Foundation for the Arts. Following his 1987 recovery from addiction, he pioneered as the first African American professional basketball team owner, established The Dream House Foundation for substance abuse recovery, and developed youth mentorship programs. Today, he champions artistic initiatives while providing legal advocacy for underprivileged Brooklyn residents.
