The Reality C.H.E.K. Foundation

Community Headquarters Educating Kids

MISSION STATEMENT

The Reality C.H.E.K. Foundation empowers children to navigate life’s  challenges with confidence and strategic thinking by teaching essential  life skills through the timeless game of chess. We transform the 64 squares of the chessboard into a classroom where young minds develop  critical thinking, patience, problem-solving abilities, and emotional  resilience. Through chess instruction and mentorship, we prepare  children to make thoughtful decisions, overcome obstacles, and achieve  success both on the board and in their daily lives.

VALUE STATEMENT

Strategic Thinking:

We believe every child can learn to think several moves ahead, anticipating consequences and planning for success in all areas of life.

Patience & Perseverance:

We teach children that mastery takes time, and that thoughtful consideration leads to better outcomes than hasty decisions.

Respect & Sportsmanship:

We foster an environment where children learn to respect opponents, accept both victory and defeat gracefully, and support one another’s growth.

Critical Analysis:

We develop children’s ability to assess situations objectively, recognize patterns, and make informed decisions under pressure.

Personal Responsibility:

We emphasize that every move has consequences, teaching children to take ownership of their choices and learn from their mistakes.

Inclusive Excellence:

We welcome children from all backgrounds, believing that chess transcends  barriers and that every child deserves the opportunity to develop their potential.

Lifelong Learning:

We instill a love of continuous improvement, showing children that there is always more to discover and ways to grow, both in chess and in life.

Community Building:

We create supportive environments where children develop friendships, mentorship relationships, and a sense of belonging while pursuing shared goals.
